What the hotel lists
The guest-rooms page names two items: a "Theme Suite", described as a family theme suite, and a "Cowboy Suite", described as a family-friendly Western suite complete with a jetted tub. That is the full published description. The number of themed suites, their beds and their size are not stated.
Calgary sells itself as a cowboy city for ten days every July, so a Western-themed room near Stampede Park's drive is no great surprise. For the dates of the 2027 Stampede, see Stampede week.
Good reasons to ask for one
- 1
A child's birthday
Combine the suite with the hotel's weekend kids pool party package in the Mohave Grill.
- 2
Stampede week
A Western room for a Western week, with free parking and the 15 km drive to Stampede Park.
- 3
A soak after the drive
The jetted tub is the one feature of this room that no other room description mentions.
- 4
Novelty
Some trips need a story; a themed room on Barlow Trail SE is one.
Questions to put in the request
- How many beds, and what size?
- How many people may stay?
- Is the theme suite the same room as the Cowboy Suite, or a different one?
- Is the jetted tub in the bedroom or the bathroom?
The hotel does not answer these on its website, so this page cannot either. The desk will ask on your behalf.
Availability
With a small number of themed rooms, dates around Stampede, long weekends and New Year's Eve go first. The hotel itself warns that New Year's Eve is one of the busiest nights of the year. Ask early and give a fallback, such as a Family Suite, in the notes field.
