Questions drivers ask before pulling in

Seventeen short answers. Where the hotel publishes the answer it is quoted; where it does not, the answer says so and names who to ask.

Before booking

Is this the hotel's website?

No. Deerfoot Trail Stays is an independent guide. The hotel's official site is deerfootinn.com and its front desk is on (403) 236-7529.

What are the check-in and check-out times?

The hotel does not publish them on its website, and third-party listings disagree (3 or 4 p.m. in; 11 a.m. or noon out). Ask in the notes of a room request or call the hotel before planning around an early arrival.

How many rooms does the hotel have?

188 guest rooms, 28 of them suites, according to the hotel's guest-rooms page. The six layouts are compared on rooms.

Does a request through this site commit me to anything?

No. It is a message to the desk, which checks availability and the rate and answers by email. Nothing is booked until you confirm, and the booking is then made with the hotel or a booking partner.

What deposit does the hotel ask for?

The hotel's package pages say a major credit card is required for the deposit at check-in, and that cash, debit and Visa Debit are not accepted for it. The same pages ask for 24 hours' notice to cancel without penalty. Prepaid sale rates are non-refundable.

The road and the car

Is parking free?

Yes. The hotel's own event pages call the parking complimentary, and the Travel Alberta listing marks free parking. More on parking, fuel and the lot.

Is there an airport shuttle?

The hotel does not advertise one, and its Google Maps panel lists an airport shuttle as not offered. YYC is about 31 km away by Deerfoot Trail, 24 minutes in light traffic by Google's estimate. See YYC airport stopover.

Which exit do I take?

Exit 240 from Deerfoot Trail onto Barlow Trail SE, then the first intersection, 114 Avenue SE. The hotel stands just south-west of that corner. Open the place card in Google Maps or start directions from your location.

How long is the drive to downtown and to Stampede Park?

Early on 31 October 2026 Google Maps estimated 18 minutes (20.1 km) to the Calgary Tower and 19 minutes (15.1 km) to Stampede Park. Weekday rush hour adds a good deal; see Deerfoot Trail explained.

Can I get there without a car?

Google Maps routes the trip from the Calgary Tower on Calgary Transit route 302 to the stop on 114 Avenue SE at 35 Street SE, 33 minutes with a CA$4.00 fare shown on 31 October 2026. Check the current timetable with Calgary Transit first.

In the building

Are pets allowed?

In designated pet-friendly rooms, for $35 per night extra, according to the hotel. See pet-friendly rooms.

When is the waterpark open, and who can use it?

Daily from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m., for hotel guests. It has a pool, two hot tubs, a toddler area and a two-storey water slide with four curls. See waterpark, gym and spa.

Is there a gym?

Yes: a fitness centre with treadmills, ellipticals and strength equipment, open 24/7.

Where is breakfast served?

In the Mohave Grill, which opens at 7 a.m. every day with a full breakfast menu and runs a deluxe breakfast buffet on Sundays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The hotel's Google Maps panel lists breakfast as paid.

How old do I have to be to enter the casino?

18. Alberta's regulator, AGLC, defines a minor as a person under 18, and casino premises are licensed as minors-prohibited. Children can stay at the hotel and use the waterpark; the casino floor is for adults.

Is the hotel quiet at night?

It depends on the room and the night. The building holds a casino open until 3 a.m. (5 a.m. on Friday and Saturday), a pub with live music on weekend nights and a concert room. Ask the desk for a room away from the elevators and the busy side of the building; the hotel does not publish which rooms face where.

Help

Where can I get help if gambling is causing problems?

The Alberta Health Services Addiction Helpline answers 24/7 on 1-866-332-2322. The GameSense Info Line is 1-833-447-7523, and AGLC's Self-Exclusion Program is on 1-844-468-8034. Every number is on responsible gambling.

Pulling in for a night? Ask the desk to check a room

Four fields are enough to start; the rest is optional. The desk checks availability and the current rate with the hotel's reservations or a booking partner and answers by email. This is a request, not a booking: no card details, nothing charged. If a request becomes a confirmed stay, the hotel or the booking partner pays this site a commission — how that works.

Request received. The desk answers by email, usually within one working day.
