Most of the smaller rooms carry the names of Calgary neighbourhoods in the south of the city, which is a nice touch for a hotel that sits there. The Sundance sections add up to 6,848 sq ft if opened as one ballroom.
Catering
The hotel describes catering from intimate dinners for 10 up to plated luncheons for 500 on its conferences page; its meetings page says 450. Plan with the lower figure and ask. Its Christmas catering offer covers 180 to 500 guests banquet-style, with catering, décor, linens, AV set-up and staffing available in the package.
Rooms for delegates
With 188 guest rooms on site, the hotel can house a conference without buses. It invites groups and recurring travellers to ask about negotiated rates. For weddings it offers booking codes so guests get group-rate discounts.
Why the location works for meetings
- Free parking for every delegate who drives in.
- Exit 240 off Deerfoot Trail; Google Maps estimates 24 minutes from YYC in light traffic.
- Calgary Transit stop at 114 Avenue SE and 35 Street SE, according to Google Maps' transit result.
- Evening programme in the same building: dinner in the grill, a show in the Chrome Room on some dates.
