How the desk is funded

One income line, stated plainly. When a room request sent through this site turns into a confirmed stay, the hotel or the booking partner that completed the reservation pays the site a commission. Readers never pay us anything.

The money in one table

How a commission comes about

  1. A reader sends a room request through one of the forms on the site.
  2. The desk checks availability and the rate with the hotel's reservations team or a booking partner and answers by email.
  3. The reader confirms. The hotel or the partner completes the reservation and takes payment under its own terms.
  4. After the stay, the party that took the booking pays the site a commission on it. A cancelled stay earns nothing.

The rate quoted to you is the hotel's or the partner's rate. The desk adds no booking fee of its own.

What the commission does not buy

  • Opinions. The verdict lists the walking location, rush hour on Deerfoot Trail and the unpublished check-in times as weak points. The hotel has not seen that page, and would not have written it.
  • Silence about contradictions. Where the hotel's own pages disagree — pub hours, lounge closing times, the size of the largest catered lunch — both figures are printed.
  • Casino coverage. The casino appears with its size, hours and age limit, nothing more. Gaming promotions, prize figures and play packages are left out on purpose; see responsible gambling.

Buttons and links to the hotel point at deerfootinn.com with no referral code, campaign tag or affiliate parameter. Google Maps links open the hotel's place card or a route. Links to the regulator and the helplines go to their own pages. A booking made through any of them pays this site nothing.

Why this model

A road guide to one hotel has a single useful thing to offer: saving the reader a phone call. The desk answers what the hotel's website leaves open — check-in time, a room away from the elevators, space for a trailer — before anyone commits. If that ends in a booking, the commission covers the research, the hosting and the next round of fact checks. If it does not, the reader still got the answer.

Who runs it

An independent editorial desk, working since 2026, with no ties to the hotel, to GameHost Inc. or to PURE Casino Entertainment. More on about the desk. Questions about money go to hello@deerfoottrailstays.com.

Pulling in for a night? Ask the desk to check a room

Four fields are enough to start; the rest is optional. The desk checks availability and the current rate with the hotel's reservations or a booking partner and answers by email. This is a request, not a booking: no card details, nothing charged. If a request becomes a confirmed stay, the hotel or the booking partner pays this site a commission — how that works.

Request received. The desk answers by email, usually within one working day.
