The form
What happens after you press send
- step1
The request reaches the desk
Your details arrive in the desk's inbox, and a copy is kept on the server that runs this site. How long it stays there is on the privacy page.
- step2
The desk checks the dates
We ask the hotel's reservations team or a booking partner whether the room type is free on your dates and at what rate. The desk holds no rooms of its own and has no allocation.
- step3
You get an email
Usually within one working day: free or not, the rate with taxes noted, the cancellation terms that apply, and whatever the hotel said about your notes.
- step4
You decide
Reply to confirm and the booking goes to the hotel or the partner, who completes it with you. Do nothing and the request simply lapses.
- step5
Arrival
The hotel's package pages ask for a major credit card for the deposit at check-in and state that cash, debit and Visa Debit are not accepted for that deposit. Pack the right card.
Why each field is there

| Arriving and leaving | Yes | Dates as year-month-day, for example 2027-07-09 |
| Guests | No, preset to 2 | Bed configuration and occupancy |
| Room | No | One of the six layouts on the rooms page, or "not sure yet" |
| Reason for the trip | No | Tells the desk whether to check show dates, Stampede week demand or meeting space |
| Phone | No | Only if a call suits you better for a time-critical answer |
| Notes | No | Arrival time, vehicle, pets, accessibility needs, tickets you already hold |
| Consent box | Yes | Permission to email you about this request and nothing else |
Requests that need more than a form
- Ten rooms or more, meetings, weddings, Christmas parties. These belong with the hotel's sales office, which publishes its own line: sales@dfic.ca, (403) 723 4027. Room sizes and capacities are on the meetings page.
- Shows. Name the show and the date in the notes. Concert packages come with a maximum ticket value, set out on the rates and packages page.
- Two vehicles, a trailer or a long motorhome. Say so. The hotel does not publish rules for oversized vehicles, so the desk asks before you commit.
Booking direct instead
Nothing obliges you to use the desk. The hotel takes reservations through the booking engine on deerfootinn.com and by phone: toll-free 1-888-875-4667 in Canada, 1-877-236-5225 internationally, or the hotel line (403) 236-7529. Book direct and this site earns nothing; the room is exactly the same. The desk is for people who would rather send one message and get one checked answer back.
A note on the date fields
The date boxes take plain text in the form year-month-day, because phone date pickers display differently on every device and in every language. The Calgary Stampede runs from 9 to 18 July 2027, according to the Stampede itself. New Year's Eve 2026 falls on a Thursday. If the dates are flexible, write that in the notes — "any two nights in March, Friday preferred" is a perfectly usable request.
