About the desk

Deerfoot Trail Stays is an independent road guide to a single hotel, Deerfoot Inn & Casino in south-east Calgary. A small editorial desk writes it; the desk started in 2026 and has no connection to the hotel.

What the site is for

Most hotel websites answer the question "why stay here". Few answer "how do I get in from exit 240 with a trailer at midnight". This guide is built for the second kind of question: distances, opening hours, room layouts, parking, and the things the hotel leaves unpublished. It covers one property properly instead of ten in passing.

House rules

  • No source, no fact. The hotel does not publish check-in times, room sizes or its opening year, so this site prints none of them.
  • Contradictions stay visible. When two hotel pages disagree, both figures appear with a note.
  • Estimates wear a label. Drive times come from Google Maps at a quiet hour and say so. Rush hour is its own climate zone.
  • No invented guests. There are no reviews signed "a happy traveller". Public rating figures appear on public ratings with the platform and the date they were read.
  • Illustrations are illustrations. The pictures are painted-style images made for this site, not photographs of the hotel, and each caption says so.

What the site is not

Not the hotel's website: it cannot change a reservation, look for lost property or speak for the casino. Not a gambling site: it takes no bets, links to no betting operator and leaves casino promotions out. Not a booking engine either: the room request is a message to a person who checks the details and writes back.

Corrections

Hotels change menus, hours and prices faster than any guide can follow. If a page here is out of date, write to hello@deerfoottrailstays.com with the page address and what changed; a link to the hotel's own page speeds things up. A correction goes live once the new fact can be checked at its source.

Pulling in for a night? Ask the desk to check a room

Four fields are enough to start; the rest is optional. The desk checks availability and the current rate with the hotel's reservations or a booking partner and answers by email. This is a request, not a booking: no card details, nothing charged. If a request becomes a confirmed stay, the hotel or the booking partner pays this site a commission — how that works.

Request received. The desk answers by email, usually within one working day.
