The casino floor: size, hours, age limit

The casino is part of the building, and this page describes it the way an atlas would: how big it is, when it is open and who may enter. It does not rank games, list offers or suggest a visit.

Who may enter

Alberta's gaming regulator, Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis (AGLC), defines a minor as a person under 18. Casinos in Alberta are adults-only, so carry government photo ID if you plan to go in. Children staying at the hotel use the rooms, the waterpark and the restaurants; the casino floor, the Island Bar and the VLT lounge are off limits to them.

Who owns and regulates it

The hotel's own announcement states that its operator, GameHost Inc., has joined the PURE Casino Entertainment family, and that day-to-day operations continue as before. Casino gaming in Alberta is licensed and regulated by AGLC.

If you do not gamble

Most of what this guide covers — rooms, waterpark, restaurants, showroom, meeting space — does not require setting foot on the casino floor. If noise or the atmosphere of a casino matters to you, say so in the room request and the desk will ask for a room in a quieter part of the building. The hotel does not publish its floor layout for guest rooms, so the outcome depends on the day.

If gambling stops being fun

  • Alberta Health Services Addiction Helpline: 1-866-332-2322, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, confidential, includes problem gambling.
  • GameSense Info Line (AGLC): 1-833-447-7523.
  • Self-exclusion: AGLC runs a voluntary Self-Exclusion Program for six months to three years, covering casinos and racing entertainment centres and, if you choose, regulated online platforms. Contact 1-844-468-8034.
  • Suicide Crisis Helpline: 9-8-8.

The full list, including family resources, is on the responsible gambling page.

This site does not offer gambling, does not link to gambling sites and does not publish the casino's promotions. Casino visits are optional and for adults 18 and over.

Pulling in for a night? Ask the desk to check a room

Four fields are enough to start; the rest is optional. The desk checks availability and the current rate with the hotel's reservations or a booking partner and answers by email. This is a request, not a booking: no card details, nothing charged. If a request becomes a confirmed stay, the hotel or the booking partner pays this site a commission — how that works.

Request received. The desk answers by email, usually within one working day.
